I am an Associate Professor of Economics in the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile.

I am also researcher at the Centre for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES), and research affiliate at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA).

My fields of interest are Political Economy, Economic History and Economics of Gender. I also have interest and experience in Development Economics, Public Economics and Labor Economics. My current research is focused on understanding the impact of political institutions on economic as well as political outcomes, particularly in the context of under-represented groups. I consider institutions in a broad sense, ranging from electoral systems to land and social security reforms.
